✏️ 26 Things I've Learned By 26

You will love this exercise

Howdy,

It’s bonus newsletter time 🌟

Last year I had a LinkedIn post that went viral. It was the best-performing post I’ve ever had and it’s a format you can easily replicate for yourself.

After being inspired by my friend Cliff Weitzman, I have started doing this exercise every year to take some time to reflect on both the good and bad experiences I have had in the past 12 months.

I highly suggest that you give this exercise a try. You can either write it privately in your notes or post it publicly. Doing so will remind you of how much progress you have made.

Let’s get into it.

✏️ 26 Things I Learned By 26

  1. Getting enough sleep is how you achieve your dreams.
  2. Chase the win-wins in life.
  3. If you haven’t nailed Basic, you can’t move on to Advanced.
  4. Protect your focus at all costs.
  5. Making progress comes down to skill acquisition.
  6. We grossly under-appreciate those who give us everything.
  7. It’s often not what you do that matters, it’s how you feel about it.
  8. Decisions taking up headspace are like apps draining your battery.
  9. The clock doesn’t stop for anyone. Make memories.
  10. People remember how you made them feel, not what you said.
  11. “An hour before 9 is worth twice after 5.”
  12. Social media is a tool to be used. It might be using you.
  13. If energy isn’t reciprocated, share it elsewhere.
  14. You can do anything, but you can’t do everything.
  15. Great is just good repeated.
  16. Indecision is a decision.
  17. People less qualified than you are charging 3-5x more.
  18. Build an audience and you can sell anything.
  19. Life is about high-quality relationships. Not everybody is for you.
  20. Give far more than you receive. Don’t ask too early.
  21. Move with intention. Hope is not a strategy.
  22. A smile is the best outfit you can wear.
  23. Simplify everything. Every step increases the probability of failure.
  24. Bottlenecks don’t go away until they are removed.
  25. Effort does not correlate to results.
  26. If a decision is reversible, make it fast.

🎁 Bonus: Be careful of optimising for the "local maximum". More on that in an upcoming newsletter.
