🤔 23 Lessons I Learned in 2023

Hey friend, Happy New Year!! 🎆

It’s the time of the year for reflection and I LOVE it.

I hope you’re feeling excited for 2024 and feeling rested and rejuvenated after a nice holiday break.

Let’s get into it.

💭 Thought of the week

Here’s 23 lessons I learned in 2023 (some of them the hard way):

  1. "An hour before 9 is worth twice after 5."
  2. "No good stories come from your comfort zone."
  3. "Great is just good repeated."
  4. A business is like a baby. Be a good parent to one baby before you parent more.
  5. Move with intention - hope is not a strategy.
  6. Nobody's got it figured out as much as they show on social media.
  7. If it hasn't happened yet, change your approach.
  8. Know your relationship with alcohol, food and sleep.
  9. Think who, not how.
  10. Indecision is a decision.
  11. You can do anything, but you can't do everything.
  12. Protect your focus at all costs.
  13. Chase the win-wins in life.
  14. Nail Basic before moving on to Advanced.
  15. Build an audience and you can sell anything.
  16. Social media is a tool to be used. It might be using you.
  17. Making progress comes down to skill acquisition.
  18. Give far more than you receive.
  19. Bottlenecks don't go away until they are removed.
  20. If a decision is reversible, make it fast.
  21. If energy isn't reciprocated, share it elsewhere.
  22. The clock doesn't stop for anyone. Make memories.
  23. A smile is the best outfit you can wear.

Take these into 2024 and reply to this email if you come up with your own!

- You’ve heard of Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, changing the world with advances in artificial intelligence. This article outlines his best ways to be productive written in 2018 - I love reading how people like Sam operate.

✍️ Quote of the week

At some point you gotta be real with yourself about the gap between the life you want to live and the life that your daily habits are leading you towards.
